Today we are going to explore some options for people who live in small spaces with very little storage room for their kids or for that matter, themselves.
Being a mother of three, we had to learn how to use space wisely. There really aren't any rules when it comes to this. If you live in a building that is vertical, then you must use vertical space. That means that you have to find ways of hanging plants, shelves, clothes and many of your daily care items.
The kids and I had to be creative, since in our apartment, we don't have a lot of closet space.
We visited Walmart and found a vertical hanging shelf for them to store shoes, books and other personal items. We also found a hanging shoe rack to put on the back of their door. Another item we invested in, that you might have to look around for, is a mounted wall shelf with knobs to hang necklaces, purses and other things, that is dual-purpose, and serves as a bookshelf, too.
If you cannot find these items locally, then you can visit a hardware store and pick up some basic supplies, such as wood, a hammer, nails, a tape measure and some stain, to make your own shelves. Be sure to measure the wood correctly to get the right dimensions and follow all instructions for painting, so as to not to mess up the wood or cause illness.
